Produktworks Design is now Clandestine Product Development!
On March 25th 2023, Produktworks Design celebrated our 15th Anniversary and what a journey it has been. We’ve had some incredible highlights over the years, including numerous patents and awards for our work, launching great products for our clients, and seeing the fantastic personal and professional growth of our team. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our 15 years in business so the only (il)logical thing to do would be to….rebrand the company!
Wait, what?
We know, this sounds like a crazy thing to do. We’d potentially be losing 15 years of name recognition, not to mention the logistical nightmare of migrating over email accounts, website logins, cloud servers and finances. So why do it?
Our areas of expertise and the services we provide have expanded, our client base has evolved, and we’re doing far more technically challenging work than we were even 6-8 years ago. As a company, we have evolved over the years, and we will continue to evolve. A stagnant business is a dead business.
Given that, we felt that the name Produktworks Design didn’t really reflect this evolving company very well any more. Our services extend far beyond design, and to be honest, we were getting tired of trying to spell the company name over the phone!
‘P-R-O-D-U-K-T-W-O-R-K-S….Yes, a K instead of a C. Product, but with a K instead of a C. No, not CK, just K….*hears click* Hello? Hello?’
Also, @produktworksdesign.com has to be in the running for longest email address ever. To quote Dave Grohl, talking about the Foo Fighters band name: “Had I imagined that it would last more than a month-and-a-half, I might have named it something else”
So why Clandestine?
Other than the fact that there’s something very James Bond-y about the name, it more accurately reflects our approach to the work we do. We hold client intellectual property to the very highest standard, and we sign up for projects where we will never be able to show the work we do, due to the non-disclosure agreements we sign. We have worked on projects for some of the biggest names in the audio-visual industry, sports entertainment giants, market leaders in augmented/virtual reality and pioneering gaming companies.
It’s a reflection of the trust our clients have in us, and our willingness to just do the work. We don’t need accolades, we don’t need to shout ‘Hey, look at us!’, and we don’t self-promote just to get our name out there. We are extremely grateful when clients do allow us to showcase their products on our portfolio, but it’s not why we’re in business.
What does this mean for you, the client?
Very little, in all reality. Our clients will still get the same team and expertise. Clandestine’s services and areas of specialization will only continue to expand as we grow into 2023 and beyond.
