Headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, Motion Computing® (now Zebra Technologies) was a global leader in integrated mobile technologies for vertical markets including utilities, healthcare, construction, public safety, and retail. Motion came to Clandestine to help develop a line of peripherals for their next generation tablet, the R12.
For this project, Clandestine conceptualized and carried out product architecture for the R12 keyboard and stand. Motion needed a simple and cost effective keyboard and stand combo that could easily be attached to the back of the tablet. Using both sketching, CAD and hand built foam models for the conceptualization phases, we packaged the vendor’s OEM keyboard into the smallest, lightest package possible and devised a way to attach the stand to the tablet with magnets. The result is a simple to use, reliable and ultrathin keyboard and stand combination.
