Overview

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, Motion Computing® (now Zebra Technologies) was a global leader in integrated mobile technologies for vertical markets including utilities, healthcare, construction, public safety, and retail. Motion came to Clandestine to help develop a line of peripherals for their next generation tablet, the R12.

For this project, Clandestine designed and engineered the SecureDock for the R12. This vehicle dock needed to be rugged and extremely secure in order to handle the NVH of everyday vehicular operations. We engineered the dock to have a rugged latching system that would keep the tablet in place, even in case of a collision, yet be easy enough to attach and deploy the tablet with one hand. The standard VESA mount on the back of the dock allows it to be mounted in almost any vehicle while the custom PCB has a variety of I/O and power options.
